The victim, Nasser Ali Nasser Obeid, a 21-year-old, was reported missing from his house in Al Rashidiyah on the second day of Eid Al Adha.

Issam Issa Al Humaidan said that the Public Prosecution was questioning the three suspects, who would be charged with killing the victim and disposing of the body of the Emirati.

The case dates back to October 28 when the Rashidiyah police station received a complaint by the father of the missing man. The Dubai police began its investigation and three men were under suspicion as they were the last to be seen with the missing man. Through investigation and following leads and quizzing the three men the police knew that they were involved in killing and disposing the body in Mahdha, Oman.

The Bur Dubai prosecution handled the investigation after the case was referred to them on Wednesday. The prosecutors listened to the three suspects and found out that two of them had sought vendetta with the uncle of the victim as they believed that he had killed the brother of one of them in a road accident.

They reminded the victim that his uncle had killed the brother of the first accused who was sitting next to the victim in the rear seat of the car. The victim protested saying he was not responsible for his uncle’s actions, but to no avail.

Further investigations revealed the two men, with the help of their accomplice took the victim along to a dark desert location in Mahdha in Oman late at night. They consumed liquor and tried to sexually assault him. When he resisted, they beat him up and brought him to the car and then strangled him with the seat belt, killing him.

They took the body to a valley where they gathered wood, poured petrol on the body and burnt it.

The Attorney-General said the first accused admitted he killed the victim while his two accomplices admitted they stood watching him killing the victim and then helped him in burning the body.

The accused had a criminal record in drug cases.
