The Sharjah Police have referred two Pakistani nationals to the public prosecution for allegedly breaking into a supermarket and stealing Dh500 and boxes of cigarettes.
According to the police, the suspects kept surveillance on the supermarket during the day time and broke open the door of the shop at night for the theft.
The police received a report from the owner of the supermarket on October 5 about the robbery. A team of Criminal Investigation Department officials reached the site and lifted the evidence and reviewed the CCTV footage from the cameras installed on the road and inside the supermarket. The police managed to identify the suspects and locate them within no time. They were arrested from their residence in the Sharjah industrial area. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the robbery and said they were planning many other thefts in residential areas in the emirate. The case has been transferred to the court for hearing on October 27.
