The Public Prosecution has raised the charge of sexual assault against the man identified as Kh.R.D.A, alleging he took advantage of the unaccompanied woman, hugging her by force, kissing her cheek and groping her.
According to court records, the case goes back to October 11 when the woman went to her husband’s office to finish off some work and await her husband’s arrival. She phoned the accused, who has been working as a driver for her husband for several years, and asked him to bring her some lunch. Half an hour later, the driver arrived at the office and gave her the meal. After finishing her lunch, the woman relaxed there, which is when the incident took place.
The old man grabbed the woman from behind and hugged her, then proceeded to push her to the ground, pushed himself on top of her and removed her breast from her top and began licking it. The woman reacted to the assault by slapping the man across the face and pushing him away while she screamed for help. She then grabbed a steel rod and threatened him not to come any closer. When she moved to the balcony and cried for help, some neighbours and passers-by heard her and rushed to her rescue.
While in court on Sunday, the accused claimed that his manager’s wife had cooked up the story because he had asked the company for his unpaid salaries, which made her fabricate the claims for revenge.
The court deferred the case in order to study the papers closely and hear the testimonies of eye witnesses.
