According to a police source, the decomposed body of the woman was found buried in a deserted villa in Al Mankhool area on Thursday, covered by a piece of wood.
The body was shifted to the forensic department, which revealed that the body was of a 30-year-old Bangladeshi woman who was strangled to death.
The investigation revealed that the woman was staying in the country illegally and was practising prostitution with the help of the suspect.
The police official said that the body of the woman was found by an engineer of the Dubai Municipality who went to check the house for reconstruction. A police team rushed to the site and found the decomposed body along with her cloths in which they found her picture. The police received information about the suspect who was working in a company in Naif Souq and took him into custody.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he had strangled the woman with her scarf after dragging her to the deserted house.
“He said the woman demanded Dh3,000 from him and threatened him to send somebody to beat him to death. He planned to kill her as he was not willing to pay her the money,” the police said. Based on his confession the police referred the case to Public Prosecution.
