The 28-year-old pleaded not guilty to sexual assault charge and claimed he only meant to film the view in front of him.

A policeman told the investigating prosecutor that he was alerted by a woman passenger about a Pakistani man filming women in the metro, while he was on duty at Rashidiya metro station. The incident occurred in June at about 11.30pm.

The policeman approached the accused in the metro and asked him about whether he was filming women but the latter denied.

The policeman asked him for his mobile phone and checked the last clip saved in it. It featured the woman who had complained to the policeman about the man. He also found several clips of other unaware women passengers, in which the defendant zoomed in on particular parts of their body.

The accused claimed he only meant to film the public view.

A police patrol was called and the accused was taken to the Rashidiya police station. The Criminal Evidence report said, there were 16 clips of women in public places in the defendant’s phone, of which 13 clips zoomed in on particular parts of their body.— mary@khaleejtimes.com
