Chauffeur jailed for molesting employer's son

Dubai - A private chauffeur, 30, has been sentenced to a year in prison for touching his employer's son, 7, inappropriately and repeatedly in a month while he was driving him to and from school.

The Pakistani man earlier pleaded not guilty to a sexual abuse charge when he appeared in the Court of First Instance.

He will be deported after serving his time in prison.

He is believed to have taken advantage of the fact that the boy was alone with the boy, a British national, during the rides.

The boy’s mother, a 32-year-old housewife, said that she reported the incident to the Jebel Ali police on May 26.

She described that during that month, her son’s behaviour had changed. “He was sad and did not want to have a bath or put on good clothes. “The boy did not also want to stay at home. When the mother playfully tickled the boy, he told her to stop doing so as the accused used to touch him. She then learnt from him that the driver touched him around 15 times and against her son’s will. “Once my son told him to stop the car and he moved to sit in the back seat to be away from him.”

The accused admitted in the prosecution investigation that he touched the boy when he was driving him between the Greens and the Arabian Ranches. He claimed it was only once and it was a joke.
