Four people out of the 16 accused were caught operating the gambling casino at the Marina area in Dubai.
The man accused of running the gaming casino admitted that he has been tasked with operating the gambling machines and collecting the bet money from gamblers.
The court has adjourned the case until January 22.
According to the testimony given by the policeman who supervised the arrest of the 16 gamblers, the police received information from undercover agents that a casino located at the Jumeirah beach neighbourhood was offering stake gaming.
To ascertain of the authenticity of the information, the said police officer accompanied by a sleuth moved to the casino. The policeman witnessed that the casino was really offering gambling games against money.
A trap was laid three days later and an undercover police personnel entered the casino on the pretext of gambling.
Once he started playing, he signalled to the police force to raid the casino and arrested the 16 wrongdoers.
Money was recovered from the accused and from a safe in a room.
