The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Department has seized 133 different counterfeited products of an international brand from different shops in the northern emirate. 
The shopping centres involved in the violation have been issued a warning letter, according to Ahmed Ali Al Balochi, manager of commercial control and protection section with the department. 
"All the 133 duplicated items, including wallets, handbags, and perfumes, have been seized from all the shops involved whereas the ship has been warned more stringent penalties, in case of repeating the same violation." 
The department has been alerted about the violation by the company holding the legal rights of original products, he added. 
"An inspection campaign has been launched against the erring outlets which have been nabbed red-handed with the fake products in." 
The Ras Al Khaimah Economic department spares no effort to protect consumers' rights and those of trademarks, and reserve the intellectual property rights, he underlined. 
"Selling duplicated products to customers as original ones is nothing but a fraud and racketeering, and may never be tolerated in the markets of the emirate of the entire country."
