and Jotun shine

DUBAI - Yogi Group, Seven Seas Strikers and Jotun Paints won their respective matches in the 9th Oasis Chemicals Cricket Cup, a press release said.

The tourney is being conducted under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council. Prabodhan of Yogi played an exceptional innings of 102 runs off just 42 balls, leading the Yogi Group to victory over Sandpipers CC by a remarkable margin of 116 runs. He was also supported by Swapnil who scored 71 runs off 39 runs.

In another match, EITZEN CC lost to Jotun Paints by just one wicket. It remained a low scoring match, with Sudershan and Baijnath being the top scorers for EITZEN with 24 and 21 respectively, while Sujith took 4/19 for Jotun Paints. Bilal shone for Jotun scoring a remarkable 52 not out off just 23 balls. In another match, Seven Seas Strikers were defeated by Habib Bank AG Zurich by a huge margin of 159 runs. Qadir Khan (86) played a great knock and he was also assisted by Shafaqat and Hasnain Raza who scored 51 and 43 runs respectively.

Farhan was the pick of the bowlers, while veteran Freddy Sidhwa took two wickets for 14 runs.

Match 1: Yogi Group defeated Sandpipers CC by 116 runs. Yogi Group 230/1 in 20 overs (Prabodhan 102, Swapnil 71; George 1/35) Sandpipers CC 114/7 in 20 overs (Rupesh 30, Rushil 18; Shiva 2/23, Nilash 2/28).

Match 2: Jotun Paints defeated EITZEN CC by one wicket. EITZEN 123 all out in 16 overs. (Sujit 4/19, Anil 3/38) Jotun Paints 127/9 in the allotted 20 overs (Bilal 52*, Subhash 19).
