Having made only 66 in their first innings, Maxway boys fared well in the second innings with Yash Sodhan leading the way with a 19 and Jay and Luke making 18 each. Omer Mohammed also chipped in with a useful 14. However, their efforts were not enough to prevent their team from suffering a defeat against one of the seasoned campaigners in Mumbai.
Sarfaraz showed his bowling skills as well, taking three wickets for 19. Jay Bista was also in brilliant form, as he bagged three for 31. Akash picked up two wickets for 17. Sarfaraz was adjudged the man-of-the-match for his brilliant all-round display. Sarfaraz, who is the captain of Payade team, smashed a superb century on the opening day to boost his team’s chances in the game.
Payade declared their first innings at 375 for five after batting first. Sarfraz smashed 21 fours and six sixers in his 112-ball 168. He got support from Prasad Pawar, Ajinkya Parte and Yash Chavan, who all scored half-centuries.
For the Dubai side, Sayeed Yaseen took two wickets. Oswin Crasta, Ajay Krishnan and Omer Mohammed bagged one wicket each.
Akash Bhardwaj made the difference during Payade’s batting as he took four wickets for just nine runs off his four overs.
Sarfaraz, after his sterling batting display, was brilliant in bowling as well, picking up two wickets. Surya Pratar too took two wickets apiece, Maxway were eventually bowled out for 66 in their first innings.
Opener Yash Shodan scored 38 off 78 balls for Maxway with the help of five fours. Crasta made 11 runs.
