Pakistan intends to shift the next edition of its cricket league from the UAE to the home country, said Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting.
"Our prayers, efforts and intention is that this should be the last PSL (Pakistan Super League) series in Dubai because we want to take PSL back to Pakistan after this," Chaudhry said during his speech in Dubai on Sunday.
The fourth edition of PSL will be held in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah from February 14 to March 17. In addition, eight matches will be played in Lahore and Karachi as well. The final will be played in the Pakistan's commercial capital Karachi.
The previous edition of Pakistan Super League witnessed a very low turnout. But a few PSL matches that were hosted in Pakistan saw massive turnouts with stadiums reaching their full capacity with spectators.
Fawad Chaudhry and other senior political leaders urged people in the UAE to make PSL successful here and come to the stadiums to watch the matches.
Faisal Javed, a member of the Senate, also saw the need to populate grounds to make the event successful.
"We will make every effort to populate grounds and make PSL successful. We will try that PSL breaks all previous records. Crowd was less during last edition but this time we will do our best to fill the grounds," Javed said.
