MCC Zayed survived some anxious moments before pulling off a thrilling five-wicket victory on the last ball of the match against G Force while Young Talent defeated ECT Dubai with ease by 58 runs.
G Force, batting first, scored a competitive 168 for eight in the allotted 20 overs with Karthik (58), Kurt (55) and Varun doing bulk of the scoring. Moaaz and Isuru Perera took two wickets each.
MCC Zayed, in reply, saw off a determined challenge from G Force to clinch the issue on the last ball. They owed their victory to Anirudh (42) and Isuru (17) who remained not out after Mohammed Omer (53) had set the early pace. In the other semi-final match, Young Talent seized the early initiative, scoring a healthy 180 for four. Ruben Abraham led the batting charge with a fine knock of 68 while Chirag Suri (35) and Aditya (33) pitched in with some good scores.
ECT Dubai were bowled out for 122 with Tanmay and Sairaj taking two wickets each. Divyandu (34) and Nabeel (28) batted well for ECT Dubai, but they failed to match pace with the ever-increasing asking rate.
