Abu Dhabi Warriors, owned by RJ Alba, Dubai Tigers, owned by RJ/DJ Abhijeet, Sharjah Bulls, owned by RJ Vicky, Ajman Panthers, owned by Radioactive Neha, RAK Scorpions, owned by RJ Pooja, UAQ Rangers, owned by RJ Alveena, and Fujairah Eagles, owned by RJ Prince, will slug it out in what promises to be an action-packed game of cricket, both for the participants and supporters.

Terming it a “success from the beginning,” Niraj Mehta, Programming Director of Cool 94.7 FM, believes that the league will give a new platform to all cricket enthusiasts to exhibit their talent and also get a feel of playing for a franchise.

The selection for the teams will be held on April 29 at Insportz at 5pm where 3 Cool FM selectors will grade and assign the listeners into categories A, B and C, on the basis of their batting and bowling skills. The draw will be held on May 1 at 4pm wherein 10 players will be finalised for each of the seven teams.

Matches are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays. Each team plays the other 6 teams for a total of 21 league games. Based on points (2 points for every victory), the top 4 teams advance to the playoffs. Two semi-finals and a grand final complete the tournament. “This is also a massive platform for individual team sponsors to reach out to their target audiences, increase brand visibility during the tournament and also have a huge on-air presence. The response has been overwhelming, as most listeners are gearing up to play for their favourite RJ’s teams,” says Sachin Singhal, executive director of Cool 94.7FM.
