Delhi Daredevils win by 6 wickets

Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag won the toss and decided to field against Deccan Chargers in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match.

There were too many twists, too many turns in a fine game of cricket. Dilshan has played a crucial part in the game. This year he has scored three match-winning half-centuries. Moreover, Delhi's twoexplosive openers, have been real flops so far. Today AB de Villiers also flopped and so the pressure was on Dilshan. He was aided excellently by Dinesh Karthik, who batted really impressively for his 41 from 30 balls. That partnership of 79 took the game away from Deccan and then Dilshan's late flourish just stunned them

It was thrilling show by the Delhi bowlers who started off with a bang removing the two most destructive batsmen very early. Deccan lost their top four inside the first ten overs. Smith and Suman started off a carnage stacking up a quickfire 50 partnership in just 25 balls. Delhi found back it's rhythm when their pacers swung them back into the contest. However, it is a very good total posted by the Deccan side. This pitch is slowing down every passing moment with the spinners expected to dictate the terms.

The Deccan Chargers face the Delhi Daredevils at Centurion. On form these two sides have looked the best in the tournament, Deccan yet to lose a game and Delhi shaping up to be the most likely opposition to upset Deccan’s momentum.

After nearly two weeks of the IPL in which veterans like Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist have been at their best, Sachin Tendulkar has insisted that age has little relation to a player’s performance in Twenty20.

This is a ground with short square boundaries. The pitch looks another good one for the batters, and it’s rather dry. It’s a bright sunny day.
