The tournament is being organised by Young Talents Cricket Academy under the auspices of the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council.

LACC, who will now meet with Preston in the title clash, put the issue beyond their IMT rivals, as they put up a challenging score of 137 runs for eight wickets.

Wasim did the bulk of the scoring for LACC as he scored 62 runs off 50 balls, which included four boundaries and two sixers.

In reply, LACC skipper Rizwan Shaikh and Ahmed Raza, both of who had failed with the bat, made amends with an inspirational spell. Rizwan claimed four wickets for 25 runs while Ahmed finished off his 3.1 overs spell with five wickets for just 11 runs.

LACC’s domination was evident as only IMT skipper Varun Deshwal (13) entered double figures.

Meanwhile, in the Elite Cup Group A match, University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) maintained their fine form as they beat Emirates Aviation College (EAC) by 17 runs.

UOWD had already advanced to the semis along while EAC, who finished tied with AUS and BITS Pilani with one point each, also made the last four stage on a better run-rate.

UOWD’s Vivek Reji Thomas set the stage by scoring an unbeaten 88 off 87 balls, studded with five boundaries and as many sixes while Pranav Arora scored 41 off 31 balls.

EAC, chasing 207 for a win, put up a brave fight before scoring189 for nine wickets in the allotted 30 overs. EAC’s opening batsman Peter Rodrigues scored a defiant 81 off 73 balls. But in the end Rodrigues’ efforts of 11 boundaries and a six, went in vain without much support from his team-mates.

In the under 10 match, Rehan’s 43 runs was instrumental in DPS YTCA’s 39- run win over Insportz Club.

DPS-YTCA, batting first on their home ground, piled up a big total of 136 runs for the loss of two wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Rehan Frank, who opened the DPS innings hit five boundaries on way to scoring 43 runs off 54 balls. Riaz and Umair also scored 28 and 14 runs respectively for DPS.

In reply, Insportz managed to score 97 for six wickets. DPS’ Shantanu grabbed two wickets for 10 runs while Aditya and Siddharth took one each. Rehan of DPS YTCA was later named the man of the match.
