Avdoot stars for X Men
DUBAI - X Men United trounced Dubai Pearl by 36 runs in the indoor summer tournament, organised by the ICC Global Cricket Academy and supported by the Dubai Cricket Council.
After being put into bat by Dubai Pearl, X Men United started off slowly as the first pair of Avdoot and Jayesh put on only 18 runs. Then Ajit and Mahesh (29) started accelarating the score and put things very much on track with a 37-run partnership. However, Dubai Pearl captain Navneet came up with some clever bowling to restrict the score to 88 runs.
Chasing a target of 89 to win , Dubai Pearl opening pair of Satender and Vijay provided a perfect start with a determined partnership of 22 runs. They were cruising nicely until Avdoot bowled a fiery spell which was backed by some splendid display of fielding to give the team a 36-run win.
Avdoot was named man-of-the-match for his 3-1 bowling spell.
