Al Khubairat bounce back with a win

ABU DHABI - British School Al Khubairat kept their hopes alive for a semifinal spot in the Under-14 Lifebuoy Abu Dhabi Inter-School Tournament with an emphatic nine-wicket win over Sherwood-British Syllabus at the Academy grounds over the weekend.

Amri Mohideen, opening the bowling and batting, took two wickets, two catches and hit a brisk 23 to see his side through in just 10.1 overs after bowling their opponents out for 63 to complete their Group A games with a win and a loss.

Mohideen took two for nine from four overs while Tristan Beckley (3-18) and Darren Jeeban (2-2) also were among wickets. Tom Mason, Al Khubairat captain, hit 30 not out and shared a 52-run opening wicket partnership with Mohideen. Joel Joy was the only batsman to get into double figures, hitting just under a run-a-ball 17.
