The Dubai Economy said the practice is against "local customs". It also violates the precautionary measures in place against the spread of Covid-19.
The directive came after the authority found visitors bringing baby bottles to cafes for a quick fill of coffee and other beverages.
Dubai Economy inspectors summoned the cafes' representatives after videos and photos of the practice were posted on social media.
"Such use of baby bottles is not only against local culture and traditions, but the mishandling of the bottles during the filling could contribute to the spread of Covid-19," said the Dubai Economy.
The authority urged residents to report any "negative practices" through the Dubai Consumer app or hotline 600545555, or via Consumerrights.ae.
