The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Saturday reported 2,998 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 2,264 recoveries and five deaths.
The new cases were detected through additional 168,770 tests.
More than 22 million Covid-19 tests have been carried out in the UAE so far.
The total number of cases as on January 9 is 227,702 while total recoveries are 203,660. Death toll rises to 702.
Total active cases stand at 23,340.
As per authorities' latest count on Friday, nearly 60,000 UAE residents had received the Covid-19 vaccine within 24 hours.
This takes the country's total number of vaccinations to 941,556 since the nationwide campaign began in December.
Meanwhile, volunteers in Abu Dhabi have begun taking part in Phase III clinical trials of the Russian adenovirus-based Covid-19 vaccine (Sputnik V).
Initially open to 500 volunteers, the vaccine is being tested on healthy adults from various nationalities aged 18 and above, who live in Abu Dhabi, have not previously been infected with Covid-19, have not participated in any other Covid-19 vaccination trial, and have not suffered any communicable or severe respiratory diseases for at least 14 days.
