The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Sunday reported 1,518 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 1,490 recoveries and 6 deaths.

The new cases were detected through 280,747 additional tests.

The total number of cases in UAE as on July 11 are 650,220, while total recoveries stand at 628,290. The death toll now stands at 1,866.

A new 24/7 drive-thru Covid-19 testing centre was launched in Dubai’s Qusais neighbourhood on Saturday.

Located at Al Nahda Centre, the centre offers RT-PCR testing services for Dh110, a bit lower than the usual Dh135 and Dh150 fee charged by other drive-thru hubs.

On the international front, Pakistan has imposed a ban on air travel for people who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19, a move deemed to curb the further spread of the virus, it was reported on Saturday.

In its announcement on Friday, the National Command and Opera­tion Centre (NCOC) said the ban will come into effect from August 1.
