According to authorities, the bicycle patrols will inspect potentially crowded shops and buildings in targeted areas while responding quickly to any complaints received.
This method will also help inspectors to guide shoppers on social distancing measures and avoid crowds.
Ahmed Taresh Al Qubaisi, head of control and inspection section at ADDED said: "We have launched the cycling initiative to help spread awareness measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 by having inspectors at and in front of all crowded outlets."
"This initiative will help us rapidly respond to and manage all incoming reports to monitor in a timely manner any violations committed by store owners and to ensure that social distancing is being observed in crowded places."
The initiative will be implemented during working hours during morning time and evening shifts.
