All employees of the UAE's ministries and federal government departments must undergo a PCR test for Covid-19 every seven days.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced the new requirement on Monday in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Employees who have received both doses of their Covid vaccines are exempted from the requirement, the authority added.

Previously, all federal government employees were required to take a PCR test every 14 days at their own expense.
Employees with health conditions that prevent them from taking the Covid vaccine will need to undergo a PCR test. However, the expense will be borne by the entity they work for.
