Pakistan's Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Monday joined the list of lawmakers who have tested positive for coronavirus.
Rashid is asymptomatic thus far and has self-isolated himself at his house.
The minister had recently resumed his office after the Pakistan Railways restarted operations after a two-month break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sheikh Rashid confirmed to Khaleej Times that he was diagnosed this morning and that he is in self-isolation at his home in Islamabad.
A statement issued by the Railway Ministry said that Rashid had gone into self-isolation at home for two weeks as per the recommendations by doctors.

Another lawmaker, Jai Prakash, who belongs to the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, tested positive for coronavirus on Monday. He is one of those lawmakers who had attended the National Assembly session last week.
According to sources, Prakash had his test done on Friday after which he attended the National Assembly session. The MNA reportedly also hosted an event in the evening which was also attended by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, a media report said.
