The remote work system can continue to be in force even after the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic is over, the Federal Authority For Government Human Resources has said.

In its latest circular issued to the ministries and federal entities, the authority said the remote work system can be used on a permanent basis under normal circumstances. "The remote system will help create new job opportunities and also help in maintaining work-life balance," read the circular.

The decision to implement the system is at the discretion of the head of departments of the entities and can be applied to any current or future employees, who can work remotely. "All government departments should create the best criteria to choose the right employees to work remotely and send it to the authority for approval."
