The Dubai Economy (DED) on Thursday said one shop was closed for conducting an activity that is not permitted in the current market reopening phase. However, no outlet was issued fine or warning on Wednesday.

Officials inspected 1,136 shops and commercial establishments on Wednesday to ensure that local businesses are fully compliant to Covid-19 guidelines.

Businesses in the emirate are strictly following the safety and precautionary guidelines announced by the authorities in the emirate, thanks to enhanced and regular inspections by the authorities. The DED officials inspect hundreds of shops and commercial establishments on a regular basis to ensure guidelines are being followed strictly for the safety of customers and employees of the companies against the pandemic.

The daily inspections start with the market opening time in the morning and last till the markets closed. The Dubai Economy directed traders to comply with the Covid-19 precautionary measures, such as wearing face masks and gloves and ensuring social distancing.

The DED also called on consumers to report any non-compliance to the Covid-19 precautionary guidelines via the Dubai Consumer App available on Apple, Google, and Huawei stores, by calling 600545555, or on the Consumerrights.ae website.
