"The closures are a precautionary measure to support the health of our community, partners and staff," Sharjah Art Foundation said in an email.

In a separate announcement, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority announced the closure of a few destinations as well.
In line with the implementation of the precautionary and preventive measures against the Covid-19 coronavirus, it was decided to temporarily close the following facilities within our destinations, starting from Sunday, March 15, 2020 until further notice," the authority said.
- Al Qasba leisure and entertainment areas will be closed temporary
- Al Noor Island will be closed until further notice
- The playing area at Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah will be temporarily closed until further notice.
- Al Montazah Parks will be closed until further notice
- Al Hafiya Picnic Park will be closed until further notice
- Maraya Art Center will be closed until further notice
- Khorfakkan Beach playing area will be closed temporary
- Souq Al Shanasiya playing area will be closed temporary
