Dubai is filled with fashionistas who have a real appreciation for style. But it doesn't take a genius to notice that the men of Dubai are in a league of their own. A tailored suit, the right hair cut, the best colour combination . . . for the men of Dubai the whole look matters just as much as the details. But sometimes, it can be a bit of a mission to find those details. Not to generalise, but just because most men in Dubai like to look good it doesn't mean they enjoy the process of shopping. Well, not to worry, we have something exciting to share with you.
KAIZEN BOX is a Dubai-based start-up to help you with your men's sartorial needs. It's an accessories subscription service that targets executives and the fashion-conscious.

With a focus on outfit enhancers, the subscription box guarantees a minimum of five tastefully selected colour-coded items delivered to doorsteps each month.

With payment ranging from Dhs119 to Dhs159 per month, standard items available in each box include: a tie, a pair of socks and a pocket square.

In addition, two other metal-based accessories will be added to the box varying from a lapel pin, tie clip, cufflinks or a bracelet, to create an element of surprise each month.
What we love about the start-up is that it's also a great gift idea for dads, brothers, friends or that special someone in your life.

We spoke to the two creators of KAIZEN BOX, Dubai based Parth Parekh and Vinit Sadhwani about why they decided to introduce this unique service here in Dubai, the world of entrepreneurship and the fashion industry.

Where do you get the idea to create this start-up?
We noticed a gap in the market for services that are tailored specifically for executive men. There is a plethora of subscription based services for women, gamers, kids, but absolutely nothing that would fulfil the needs of a man with taste. We're the first of our kind in the region.

How would you describe the world of starting a small business in Dubai?
Dubai is a fantastic place to start a small business. Word spreads quickly, people get curious quicker and everyone in this city is out to try something new. Our model fits in perfectly with Dubai because of the influx of executive-level talent coming in. If the cards are played right, Dubai is an entrepreneurial haven.

How would you describe the fashion world/industry here in Dubai?
Dubai's fashion, at least for men is a mixture of British and Italian. There are some great fashion designers in Dubai that are both disruptive and entrepreneurial, but they cater mainly to "hypebeasts". It would be lovely to see them come up with something that is more classic and permanent, so Dubai could have another feather in its hat.

What have been the biggest obstacles you've faced?
As Ryan Holiday puts it, The Obstacle is The Way! We've come across logistical issues, late shipments from suppliers and even misunderstandings between us, but everything is solved by just being stoic and realising that we have a bigger goal. We're really close friends, so there are no filters between us.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking of starting up their own creative brand or business?
Always make sure you're adding value to the customer's lifestyle. Be as disruptive as possible and be ruthless in your entrepreneurial journey!

What is the best and worst thing about being your own boss?
We act as each other's boss, so we're always on the edge of our seat. We micromanage each other, which works for us. So we're actually not our own bosses!
