Theatre lovers in the city can look ahead to a fusion of suspense and comedy as Majboori ki Maar. Keru kare Inkaar in Sindhi and Hindi is staged on December 25 at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School, Dubai
The play written and directed by Narendra Sadhwani 'Khak' begins in Sindhi and after the interval continues in Hindi.
The play narrates the story of Jhaman/Rajan who is jobless and dreams of striking it big at the lottery one day. He is constantly nagged by his wife Bhagwanti for idling away his time with his two friends Bansi and Kallu. The scene changes when Jhaman/Rajan's mother-in-law Rupan/Pyari visits her daughter, and the house is converted into a battlefield.
As the play progresses Jhaman/Rajan vows to take revenge by bringing a housemaid named Naina, to show his wife and mother-in-law what he is still capable of, as they feel he no longer has any individual identity. How this beautiful maid changes the ambience of the house from a dull and empty surrounding to a romantic atmosphere forms an entertaining section of the play. The end reveals the suspense of the whole drama created by the writer, who also plays the role of a detective. Dilip Bachani, Mukesh Khattar, Vikram Sharma, Jagruti Narwani, Renuka Uttamchandani, Saud Khan, Prakash Gehani, Dushyant Barot, Umesh Odhrani, Karishma Lakhiani, Megi Asnani, Kandarp Devashrayee, Chirag Lakhiani and Narendra Sadhwani are the names associated with the play.
