Singer Jessica Simpson to marry again
LOS ANGELES - Actress and singer Jessica Simpson is ready to get married again — this time to American football player Eric Johnson.
Simpson, 30, whose short-lived marriage to boy band star Nick Lachey was chronicled in the TV reality show “Newlyweds”, is engaged to Johnson, US celebrity magazines said on Sunday.
“Yes, we are excited to confirm that they are engaged!” a publicist for the pair told People magazine.
Us Weekly said the couple, who have been dating since May, became engaged last Thursday. Simpson flashed a large ring on her left hand at a department store appearance in Kansas City on Saturday.
The engagement of the singer and star of 2005 movie “The Dukes of Hazzard”, came just a few days after celebrity magazines reported that Lachey was engaged to his girlfriend of five years, model Vanessa Minnillo.
Lachey and Simpson split up in 2005 after three years of marriage.
