about the forthcoming Summer Surprises and next year's Dubai Shopping Festival and its new attractions.

Said Laila Suhail, DSS 2005 Executive Project Director, "I must add here that our participation at the ATM was very effective as we were able to portray the real picture of the two major tourism events to the large number of visitors who were all too enthusiastic about the forthcoming events. The DSF and DSS office team spared no efforts in attending to each and every query raised by the tour operators, hoteliers, representatives of the travel trade and the media. Besides presenting a comprehensive overview about the two events the team also distributed informative brochures and literature to the visitors," she said adding, "By all account, our participation at the ATM was very fruitful and spelled huge success for all our DSF and DSS endeavours."

"We must thank the Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) for their great efforts in organising an event of such a large magnitude. We are now preparing and looking forward to the DSS roadshows kicking off this month as they play a major role in inviting regional families to spend their holidays at the climate-controlled DSS venues in Dubai," said Laila.

A large number of the travel trade visitors from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt, Scotland, Britain, Germany, France and many other countries turned up at the DSF/DSS stand to check out on the latest offerings as well as the next year's event especially after the successful completion of the first successful decade of the Dubai Shopping Festival this year. Tour operators, hoteliers, airline representatives and members of the media showed great enthusiasm in the promotions to be unveiled during the DSF/DSS at the region's most prestigious tourism event held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 3 to 6.

As part of a unique DSF and DSS promotional blitz, a number of uniformed promoters carried LCD TV screens highlighting the best scenes of the two major annual events. The moving pictures grabbed instant attention as the visitors stopped in their tracks to have a glimpse of the colourful video, which attracted one and all with its exclusive concept. But the presence of Modhesh at the venue brought smile to the faces of the visitors as DSS mascot cheered everyone with his friendly appearance.
