Selena Gomez Cancels Dubai

Selenators in Dubai are disappointed but understanding! The international pop star and most followed celebrity on Instagram, Selena Gomez announced that she was taking time out from her career, which includes touring and stopping over in Dubai, to deal with panic attacks and depression.

These symptoms of anxiety could be the result of over working, stress or possibly a side effect from Selena's ongoing battle to deal with lupus disease. The former Disney star said in a statement, "I've discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges."

She also added, "I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off... I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best."

We couldn't agree more! Everyone would prefer that Selena took care of her physical and mental health before forcing herself to work which could result in a bad performance or even worse, create a risk for overall health and well being.

Thomas Ovesen, CEO of 117Live, organisers of Selena's concert, which was to take place on November 18 at the Autism Rocks Arena said, "Touring can be a grueling exercise for many artists and when dealing with an illness like lupus even more so, hence we understand Selena's need to take care of her health and therefore also why she will have to postpone her much anticipated Dubai concert."

He added, "Fans can look forward to a lot of other great shows at our Autism Rocks Arena in the following seasons and we look forward to announcing a new date with Selena Gomez whenever possible."

It was not made immediately clear when Selena would start her break or what would happen with the rest of her tour, which was mostly planned in Europe and South America, through the end of 2016.
This decision came two weeks after getting into a social media feud with ex-boyfriend, singer Justin Bieber, after he  posted images to his Instagram page of himself and his latest girlfriend, Sofia Richie then threatened to turn his account private after negative comments from fans.

We hope that unnecessary drama didn't contribute to Selena's anxiety and we wish her a speedy recovery!
