Initially, Hema trusted her director Mayur Puri until she realised the mess he had made of her dramatic and meaningful script.

To add to this, Mayur began dictating orders to veteran actors like Vinod Khanna, Dharmendra and Rishi Kapoor.

Hema watched everything with the utmost patience until the day Mayur refused to shoot until she threw out most of her production team.

An insider reveals, “Mayur even complained about the behaviour of the senior actors. That was when the veterans decided to speak up. Vinod said he was shocked that any director could behave in this obnoxious manner. Rishi Kapoor told her about how he had made a suggestion for a scene and got shot down. Dharmendra explained to Hema that he was made to sit on the set for five days without being needed for a single shot.

“A major showdown followed: Mayur implied that Hema was sabotaging his career by wanting to throw him out when 80 per cent of the film was complete; so that Hema could take the credit for producing and directing the film.”

Now, Hema has decided to direct the film herself and has hired Rameshwar of Dhoom 2 and New York to edit it.
