Luis Manzano, Toni Gonzaga reunited in new TVseries
How appropriate that their new TV series is entitled Crazy For You—because up to now, Luis Manzano admits that he is still crazy over co-star Toni Gonzaga.
It is an open secret that Luis has special feelings for Toni. When he started texting her, she was not even with ABS-CBN yet. Unfortunately, his suit went nowhere, but he and Toni have remained good friends. Now, Toni is being linked to ex-Pinoy Big Brother housemate Sam Milby, her co-star in the movie You Are The One, although she admits that they are still in that 'getting to know you' stage.
The rumours about Sam and Toni notwithstanding, Luis says that he still feels the same way he always has about Toni. “Those feelings never died,” he says. “They just transformed. She'll always have that special place in my heart.”
Luis confesses that up to now, he still finds Toni sexy “both intellectually and physically”.
But he is not hoping for anything anymore at this point. “I will always respect what they [Sam and Toni] have.”
Crazy For You stars Luis and Toni as a Filipino student and a Filipina OFW who meet and fall in love in Spain. The show, which premiered in Manila on September 11, was filmed in Barcelona and Ibiza.
“The place is already romantic,” says Toni, who describes the experience of shooting in Barcelona and Ibiza as “very fulfilling”.
Despite what happened between them, Toni says that Luis will also remain special to her, no matter what. “I've known Luis even before this thing with Sam,” she began, and he's been very consistent. He hasn't changed. I will always treasure the friendship that we have.”
