“What started five years ago as a vague idea is now a 100-minute reality and I am most excited and very nervous,” Kiran said in a handwritten invitation for the unveiling of the film’s first look on November 17.

Taking a leaf out of her husband’s marketing strategies to promote movies, Kiran will personally write notes on postcards while sharing her experiences of Mumbai, as well as the shooting of the movie in the city every week.

Dhobi Ghat is a story about four characters in Mumbai,” she added. The film will be releasing on January 21, 2011 after having won critical acclaim at the Toronto and London International Film Festivals earlier this year.

It stars Prateik Babbar and Aamir Khan and two new actors in the female leads - Kriti Malhotra and Monica Dogra.
