GRAMMY-WINNING US pop singer Pink said that she is pregnant with a baby girl, joking that she is “terrified” the infant will turn out to be like her.
The 31-year-old — real name Alecia Beth Moore — said she had been nervous to announce the pregnancy because she had been trying for a baby but had suffered a miscarriage before.
“I’m eating for two these days,” she told TV interviewer Ellen DeGeneres, when asked why she was looking so glowing.
“I didn’t want to talk about it because I was just really nervous, and I have had a miscarriage before,” she said, adding: “I worked for it. It was not an ‘oops’.”
Pink, who won a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Collaboration in 2001 and Best Female Rock Vocalist in 2003, said she had not wanted to know the sex of her baby, but had been told by the doctor.
“I’m terrified, because she thinks it’s a girl,” she said, joking that she hopes her daughter won’t be too wild. “My mom has always wished me a daughter just like me. One of us will go to jail.”
After the announcement, DeGeneres presented Pink with an ‘Ellen’ babygro suit, and a miniature motorbike, likely to be popular with her motocross-racing husband Corey Hart.
