Dubai singer Mallika joins in the F1 celebrations

AMONG THE UAE artists making leaps and bounds in the mainstream market is Mallika Singh, who proved her mettle in front of 5,000 spectators on the Abu Dhabi Corniche.

The Dubai-based urban singer was part of Wednesday night’s ‘Beats on the Beach’ line-up, taking place as part of the ‘Yasalam’ celebrations surrounding the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, taking place today.

Currently working on her debut album in Los Angeles, Mallika has teamed up with top producers and songwriters such as the Grammy-winning Scott Storch – who has worked with the likes of Dr. Dre, Christina Aguilera and 50 Cent. Collaborators on her album also include Grammy-winner Rico Love, who wrote Sweet Dreams for Beyoncé and Erik ‘Bluetooth’ Griggs, who produced No Air by Chris Brown And Jordan Sparks.

Her album is set for release early next year and will feature songs fusing Indian and Arabic sounds in a pop/R&B style; tracks include Ugly, Drama Queen, I Need Love and Weightless.
