POPULAR AGAIN

Indeed. I have been signing loads of autographs as well and children seem to love me after the Yeh Hai Bambai Nagariya song. I have a new set of admirers from the current generation. Gettingt recognition from this age group is also giving me a lot of high. I guess this is also because of judging the children's programme Lil Champs that I have been getting so much fan mail and fanfare.

Singing

I am being very selective when it comes to singing. Vishal and Shekhar consider me as their favourite singer now. I have also been flooded with offers to perform shows all over the country in small towns as well and I am taking them on. It is a great feeling to be back and loved by one and all.

Music today

Today's music is all about sound. It needs to be different. The reason remixes are popular today is also because there is a new sound driving it. I am trying to create music which has a hip hop feel and which suits the techno kind of a music that kids want to listen to today.

Son Bappa

My son Bappa is 22 years old. He has been a great asset to me earlier and now he has managed to independently record four songs as a composer for Sanjay Gupta's films. He will be launched very shortly by Sanjay Gupta. Bappa is very talented and is able to create very sophisticated and stylish music. He knows and loves to operate the various equipment that we have imported from Germany.

Next

I have a film called Cabaret coming up. The film has a song which has been done by Apache Indian and other Indian singers. I have KC Bokadia's movie called Pyar Jhukta Nahin which has Goivinda and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles and then there is an English film for me called Geeta In Paradise. I also did one Bengali film recently where I recorded eight songs. So I am having a ball.
