Armin van Buuren reveals his excitement for upcoming Dubai concert
The EDM superstar will bring his Armin Only Embrace world tour to Meydaan on May 20
We spoke with Armin about his love for Dubai, the new tour and the significance of his long running radio show A State of Trance.
I love Dubai, and the Dubai crowd. I even spent my holidays there last year! I'm super excited to bring Armin Only Embrace to Dubai for the first time.
Radio has become the home for fans of Trance and people who want to be updated about everything that goes on in the world of Armin van Buuren. Whether it's a new track I want to test out or a new remix, ASOT is the first place to test out new music. My show is available every week through Spotify as well which is great for the fans, also the producers of the music.
What is your philosophy of music?
Don't be a prisoner of your own style.
My Armin Only Embrace tour! It's the biggest thing I've ever done! It combines elements from theatre, dance, singers, a live band etc.
All my songs are my babies and I don't have a particular favourite. On my new show it's great to work with guys like Kensington, Mr. Probz, Cimo Frankel.
What is your greatest fear?
Losing my health.
Is there a historical figure you identify with?
Han Solo.
Which living person do you look up to?
Ben Liebrand.
What do you most dislike about yourself?
I can be very judgemental, even of myself.
What is the trait you most dislike in others?
Narrowmindedness.
What is your greatest extravagance?
My PS4 ;)
When were you happiest?
With my family in New Zealand.
What's a talent you would most like to have?
To be a good piano player.
Describe your current state of mind.
Happy but a little stressed for the show.
