The TRA team has held a three-day meeting with Singapore's Infocom Development Authority (IDA). The TRA team was headed by Tariq Al Awadhi, director of spectrum affairs, and included directors of technical affairs, regulatory affairs, e-Commerce, licensing and the manager of wireless networks and services.

The TRA team was briefed on the experience of IDA with a number of regulatory decisions, procedures and frameworks for a number of ICT services and initiatives such as the number portability, licences and enforcement, telecom policy and regulation, e-Government, wireless broadband, domain name, and the iN2015 — the Singapore IT Plan for creating an Intelligent Nation by the year 2015.

The meeting is the first between both authorities, where the IDA showed interest in proceeding for signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the TRA.
