Drinking water was distributed for free while firefighters sprayed water near the stage to cool fans who braved the heat
This catering service, located in Dubai Investment Park, is the 30th commercial project to be launched under Tejar Dubai to date, while it is the fifth business venture to be launched under the entrepreneurship development programme this year.
The Caterer marked its official launch with an opening ceremony, which was attended by Majid Saif Al Ghurair, chairman of Dubai Chamber, Essa Al Zaabi, senior vice-president - institutional support sector, Dubai Chamber and general coordinator of Tejar Dubai, and Faisal Al Ketbi, founder of The Caterer.
The Caterer offers meals that contribute to the wellness of individuals across verticals such as government, corporate, educational and other institutions. It also serves healthy food on different occasions such as for corporates, social gatherings, food trucks or even catering services at schools and large governmental institutions.
Al Ghurair said the launch of this project reflects the strong commitment of Dubai Chamber to support young Emirati entrepreneurs by helping them take their first steps into the business world and providing them with access to growth opportunities.
Al Ketbi thanked Tejar Dubai for its support in getting the business off the ground, and explained that one of the company's main ambitions is to contribute to the overall wellness and health of individuals and society.
Al Ketbi said he hopes to expand the business in the future by managing canteens and cafeterias across organisations and institutions in Dubai, and tendering for government contracts. Eventually, the company aims to branch out into grab-and-go kiosks and healthy vending machines.
