SAP appoints new presidents in EMEA and Latin America

DUBAI - SAP AG yesterday announced the appointment of José Duarte as president and CEO of the company's operations in Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), and Rodolpho Cardenuto as president and CEO of SAP Latin America.

The new leaders assume their roles as Erwin Gunst, formerly president of SAP EMEA, and Bill McDermott, formerly president and CEO of Americas & Asia Pacific Japan, assume new executive positions within the company and officially join the Executive Board of SAP AG as previously announced on April 2, 2008.

ARY SpeedRemit, Krores to launch remittance card

DUBAI - ARY SPEEDREMIT, has tied up with Krores, a global prepaid card solutions provider for the launch of ARY Krores (remittance) card. The strategic alliance was signed between Mr. Praveen Chandiramani, CEO- ARY SpeedRemit and Vineet Katial, CMD, Krores Ltd.

This card is specially designed for the Gulf expatriates and their families back home. Created to facilitate quick, secure and easy money transfer, this reloadable card offers its users the flexibility to send money to anyone anywhere in the world almost instantly. In the initial phases however, this service will be available to expats hailing from India and Philippines only, gradually expanding to other countries in the sub- continent targeting the expat population mainly. Emirates Computers bags 'Supplier of The Year' award

DUBAI - Emirates Computers announced that it has won the 'Supplier of the year' award for the year 2007 from Dubai International Airport. Emirates Computers was one of a select group of companies to be recognised for its contribution to Dubai Airport and Dubai Duty Free's success. Haytham Kamel, Emirates Computers' General Manager and Vice-President- Dubai and Northern Emirates, received the award from Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports and Colm McLoughlin -Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free.

Canon hails drupa 2008 most successful show

DUBAI - Canon Middle East is celebrating the company's most successful drupa participation to date having successfully generated more than 16,000 sales leads during the 14-day event and breaking all targets.

Emirates NBD integrates its network of 474 ATMs

DUBAI - Emirates NBD, announced it started integrating its network of Automated Teller Machines (ATM) which will result into one aligned platform and more services across the network of 474 ATMs owned by the banking group. The network constitutes of 234 Emirates Bank ATM machines, 60 Emirates Islamic Bank ATM machines and 180 National Bank of Dubai ATM machines. Customers of the three banks can soon use any of the machines belonging to the enlarged ATM network to perform various banking and payment transactions that will be available in unison across this channel.

Sovereign Hospitality to develop life-style estate

DUBAI - InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Sovereign Hospitality Holdings yesterday announced the signing of a definitive management agreement for a 250-room InterContinental Hotel due to open in Dakar in Senegal, Africa by 2010.

Sovereign Hospitality Holdings, part of M.A. Kharafi Group of Kuwait will invest in excess of $250 million in the development of an extensive and unique residential life-style estate, designed by Quadrisar Architects from Johannesburg, South Africa. The site, which will include the InterContinental Hotel, is set in 30 hectares of prime land in the upmarket suburb of Almadies overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the grounds will be landscaped throughout to feature parks and walking trails.
