Pakistan Business Council to Elect New Board

DUBAI - Pakistan Business Council, or PBC, will elect its new seven-member board for a two-year term on February 13, the PBC president Iskander Sultan Khawaja said on Monday.

He said that the membership of the PBC is opened to all Pakistani businessmen. The last date of membership, for the purpose of election, is fixed as January 30.

Pakistani businessmen, who paid or renewed their membership by January 30 in accordance with the PBC constitution, will be entitled to vote. The existing board will compile the list of valid voters as on January 30 and hand it over to the Election Monitoring Committee. The three member election committee is headed by Mian Mohammad Hafiz. The seven candidates who receive the highest number of votes for board of directors will be declared winners. The new board will later appoint president from among them after taking charge of the PBC.
