Lulu opens 57th shopping centre in Kuwait

KUWAIT — UAE-based Lulu Hypermarket & Supermarkets opened its 57th shopping centre in Al Rai area of Kuwait on March 5. The new Lulu hypermarket was inaugurated by Shaikh Ali Al Sabah, a member of the ruling family.

The total investment in the project is in excess of KD15 million (Dh160 million). Located in the Dream Mall complex in Al Rai, it is spread over an area of more than 240,000 sq. ft. The facility features outlets including Damas & Atlas Jewellery, UAE Exchange, Lulu Pharmacy, Amalia Perfumes, Techlink Computers, Dar Optics, Mobile shop, Travel agency, Hour Choice and Swiss Arabian.

"The response we have got for our earlier project from the shoppers of Kuwait has encouraged us to start this new hypermarket and let me assure you that we have tried to make this the best shopping experience for both locals and expatriates alike," said Yusuffali MA, managing director of EMKE Group.

"We have invested heavily on the latest equipment and amenities to make it the best shopping experience for the discerning shoppers of Kuwait," adds Yusuffali.

EMKE Group with operations in 16 countries has more than 15,000 employees from 28 countries the Group will be opening nine more new hypermarkets and shopping malls in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and India in 2007.
