RSA will present its existing and new customers with a policy booklet to serve as a guide on everything they need to know about their motor insurance policy. The new booklet simplifies matters such as eligibility, exclusions and difference between its comprehensive and executive covers.
RSA is also introducing additional covers under a special section called 'enhanced motor protection'. Among many covers, this includes the cost of hiring a taxi in the UAE in case the customer's insured vehicle is not roadworthy.
Additionally, the limit for lock replacement, including door locks, boot lock, ignition and steering lock, and car lock transmitter is now Dh5,000 and Dh7,500 under the comprehensive and executive policy respectively. Also, RSA is offering a cover for loss of personal items as a result of accident or theft up to Dh5,000 for the comprehensive cover and Dh7,500 for the executive cover.
A.K. Ravindran, technical director, UAE and Bahrain, RSA Insurance, said: "Motor insurance prices have dropped by around 50 per cent between 2011 and 2015. This is not sustainable in the long run; while this may benefit consumers in the short term, providers will have to address loss-making at some point."
Ravindran added: "We strongly believe that these product upgrades will go a long way in supporting customers by giving them more visibility and clarity on what they are drawing on their relationship with us."
