ChicKing, a halal quick service restaurant (QSR) chain from Dubai, has announced its foray into Indonesia with a roadmap to open 20 outlets in five years.
The announcement was made at a Press conference organised in connection with the master franchise signing ceremony between BFI Management DMCC (ChicKing's franchise management division) and PT Ayam Top Dubai, the master franchisee for Indonesia.
Fariq Halim, CEO of BFI Management DMCC, said the appointment of the Indonesian master franchisee is a major milestone in ChicKing's international franchise expansion plan.
With the flagship outlet planned for Jakarta by the end of 2016, PT Ayam Top Dubai will target over 20 ChicKing outlets across Indonesia over the next five years, beginning with Java and Sumatra.
The appointment of the Indonesian master franchisee is timely with ChicKing's international expansion plans, Halim said.
"Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world and is one of the key markets that we have been monitoring. The QSR industry in Indonesia is diverse and predominantly controlled by domestic brands. It is a competitive and challenging market, however, we believe that we have the right partners to make ChicKing a leading brand in Indonesia," he said.
"We will also begin our foray into the Western European market before the end of the year with the opening of ChicKing's first outlet in London in the second quarter of 2016. We have reserved a strategic location in central London and construction is currently on schedule towards the May 2016 deadline."
The brand is also looking to continue expansion into the GCC countries, Western African market and Western Europe.
