Al Jazeera mobile prepaid card launched

DOHA - The Al Jazeera Mobile service, offering news and sports alerts via mobile phones, is now even more accessible with the release of a 'prepaid card' for subscribers. Al Majaz Telecom, in association with Al Jazeera Channel, the originators of the news service, have recently launched 'Al Jazeera Mobile Prepaid Card', to provide subscribers with the latest news alerts and developments, anywhere in the world.

"The recent cooperation with Al Jazeera Channel constitutes a crucial step in developing Al Jazeera Mobile Service," said Mohamed Al Obaidly, CEO of Al Majaz Telecom. "Al Jazeera can now expedite news messages directly, effectively, and accurately to anywhere in the world" Al Jazeera Mobile, he added, is considered to be a third-generation, bilingual news service.

Hamad Yehya Al Nouimi of Al Jazeera said: "We are happy to have this strategic cooperation with Al Majaz telecommunications. It's a value added to the service we offer. The launch of this new service, coinciding with summer holidays, is an opportunity for individuals interested in being updated with political, business, or sports news, as they occur, to remain in touch with Al Jazeera Mobile, even when they travel."

Al Majaz Telecom have signed agreements with a number of distributors in Europe to facilitate customer's purchase of the Prepaid Card. In the UK it is available for the equivalent of approximately 10 Sterling Pounds. The card, which can be used for up to two months maximum, can be purchased in most commercial shops and public places, except in countries that provide the service through their local communication companies.
