"As the capital city and commercial centre, Abu Dhabi is an important market for us where we wish to offer our customers the airline's package of services to various destinations," said Shaikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani, the Chairman of Air Arabia, who cut the ceremonial ribbon to mark the opening.

"This is an excellent partnership for us, as Air Arabia is a pioneer in this region and a brand that offers travel benefits to people," said Abdullah Al Masaood, Chairman of Advanced Group of Companies, General Sales Agent for Air Arabia.

In addition to Dubai and Al Ain, Air Arabia will soon extend its new coach service to Abu Dhabi for travel to Sharjah and back. In-flight duty free purchase will be an added feature of the airline's services over and above the guaranteed 20 to 50 per cent lower fares, said a spokesman for Air Arabia.

Air Arabia aims at providing safe, efficient and cost-effective travel throughout the region, is modelled after leading American and European low-cost airlines, customised to local preferences.

The airline currently has a fleet of three A320 aircraft with plans afoot to add to the number to reach out to more destinations by the end of the year.
