Kuwait Airways said that its late Wednesday flight KU301 from Kuwait to Mumbai, India, returned safely to Kuwait Airport due to a bird crashing into the plane's cockpit.
According to the Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, the plane returned to the airport and passengers were switched to an alternative aircraft to resume their flight, according to the international aviation safety laws, said the company in a statement on Thursday.
Birds crashing into planes usually pose an element of danger, with some recorded yet rare incidents where such accidents had resulted in fatalities. However, 65 per cent of bird strikes cause just superficial damages to the plane, SPA said.
