Renowned singer and violinist Balabhaskar and his family met with an accident in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
His 2-year-old daughter, Thejaswi Bala, reportedly born to the couple after many years of marriage, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
According to Manorama News, the family was on the way back from Thrissur where they had gone to visit a temple.
Balabhaskar, his wife Lakshmi and driver Arjun who were severely injured have been admitted to the the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
The accident took place as the car collided onto a tree after the driver lost control of the vehicle, the report added.
Balabhaskar is a renowned singer and violinist who shot into fame at the young age of 17. A popular composer for the Malayalam music industry, he has collaborated with many known names and performed both in Kerala and outside, including Dubai.
