Former Pakistani Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan's plane returned to Islamabad soon after the takeoff due to bad weather conditions and not because the aircraft had developed technical problems, PTI leader Azhar Mashwani said on Saturday.
Khan was on his way to Gujranwala city to address a public gathering. He continued his journey to the venue by road after landing.
The clarification came from in response to reports claiming the plane had experienced technical glitches, according to Pakistani daily The Express Tribune.
Some earlier reports said the plane had to make an emergency landing after takeoff.
